I have not had an opportunity to use the drill on any large projects that would test the 3AH batteries full capacity, but the drill has been fantastic for the smaller projects that I have taken on. Great balance, raw torque to who laid the chunk, torque control that is surgical grade, high AH Lith Ion batteries and the four range speed control make the DS14DL the perfect choice for private or professional use. And the work light, I thought it would be more of a gimmick, boy was I wrong! The work light is the third hand we all have been looking for. I did a lot of leg-work in selecting this drill and I am 100% satisfied with the DS14DL.Get more detail about Hitachi DS14DL 14.4-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Drill.

Makita BDF452 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit Best Quality
I am DIYer and take on everything from basement finishing to roof rebuilding. I build decks for neighbors and remodel kitchens for friends and their friends. I demand a lot from my tools and tend to do lot's of research when buying them. I replaced a Panasonic 6450 with this drill. The Panasonic was an awesome drill and it's replacement was to have a very high bar to clear. I can say this drill sets a new standard. It has performed to the same level as the Panasonic, but it is both lighter and shorter, (the two features that influenced my decision) The batteries charge quicker, but this is just an observation since I never ran into the problem of having both batteries out of juice with the Panasonic. The next battery was always waiting before I could run the out the other. Nothing has stood out to dislike with the Makita, and based on my experience with Makita and the drill so far I give it full marks.Get more detail about Makita BDF452 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit.
PowerSmith Maglithium MLVA12C 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Portable Vacuum Immediately
Don't make the mistake I did. I thought this was a standard Dust Buster size. It clearly is NOT in that category. This is about one-fourth to one-third the size of a Black & Decker dustbuster. This is a toy. It sure makes a lot of noise, however. But if you want a real vacuum, look elsewhere.Get more detail about PowerSmith Maglithium MLVA12C 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Portable Vacuum.
Skil 2520-02 14.4-Volt Lithium-Ion 2-Speed Drill/Driver This instant
This is a nice little drill. Light, compact, powerful. The lithium battery will hopefully last much longer than the old, hazardous ni-cad's I am used to.
One gotcha with this particular item is that it does NOT come with a spare battery, so it is not as good a deal as the price would lead you to expect.Get more detail about Skil 2520-02 14.4-Volt Lithium-Ion 2-Speed Drill/Driver.

STP SD10033 4.0 Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless/Rechargeable Screwdriver with Limited Edition Aluminum Storage Case Review
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RQ119H39OBQVM The STP SD-10033 is great option if you manage your expectations and remember that it is to be used as a screwdriver. The STP charges rather quickly and supplies a fair amount of torque for completing small jobs. It is also lightweight and fits nicely in your hand. Men, this is the cordless screwdriver that your wife will use the most!
Things that we enjoy-
- The small light that is emitted whenever the screwdriver is engaged. This helps to eliminate the need for a third hand as you try to hold the screwdriver, the screw and a separate flashlight!
- Lightweight - weighs about a pound
- Everything is chuckless - no worries about tightening the heads into place
- Seems to charge quickly and holds a fair charge - I have never had it run out of power during use (but again - for big jobs I use a real drill)
Areas for improvement
- I realize that this is only used for small jobs, but I would still love to see variable torque settings
- The philip heads that come with the unit seem to round off rather quickly
- Will be tough to find any drill bits that fit the unit.
- Kind of expensive for what you are getting. If you look you will probably be able to find a 14V rechargable drill for about the same price.
Final Verdict - Works well for its intended purpose. This is not a drill, and if you need a full drill you will be disappointed. However, if you need something that will help you hang a picture frame this is the tool for you!

Skil 2362-01 7.2-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Drill/Driver
This cordless driver is just another great product made by Skil Lithium ion powered cordless drill technology! If you are a person with great propensity to do some skills at your garage, home or even work - you got to have this tiny incy wincy yet powerful and portable device that can unscrew your day out of this stubborn world of nuts, bolts and all fasteners alike. It's powered by Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery that can hold a charge for a very long time unlike the NiCd old- fashioned rechargeable weak batteries. This tool is perfectly balanced in weight distribution and the torque is suited just for its purpose. Again, like I have said in my review for the Skil Cordless Ratchet, as a busy Auto Service Mechanic, I use this daily in my job to loosen screws even at tight spaces and it comes with different screw driver bits. I like it because it holds a charge longer than the time to remove all the screws a car may have. It has a power indicator that tells you when to recharge it and charging is fast and it has control against over-charging and you don't have to empty the power before charging unlike NiCd batteries.
If you got the skill you need this SKIL Cordless Drill/Driver! Skil is a great brand because they make a greater product than their name!Get more detail about Skil 2362-01 7.2-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Drill/Driver.
Where To Buy Milwaukee 0819-21 18-Volt Cordless Lithium-Ion Sawzall Reciprocating Saw with Case
This is a great tool /battery combo AS LONG AS YOU DON"T NEED MORE BATTERIES!!! Milwaukee had the V18 batts for $51.00 each, a fair price. BUT lateley the have raised their price to OVER $100 each!!! Just another way Milwaukee screws their loyal customers. I would recomend you buy the DeWalt 18v XPR set instead. And oh by the way, the NEW 18 Volt smaller Lith/Ion batt. WILL NOT FIT THIS TOOL!!!!!!Get more detail about Milwaukee 0819-21 18-Volt Cordless Lithium-Ion Sawzall Reciprocating Saw with Case.

Order Factory-Reconditioned Milwaukee 2401-82 12-Volt Lithium Ion Sub-Compact Driver
I bought this driver after looking at many different products and after reading reviews of several other brands. It has performed above my expectations. Long battery life and doesn't drain down much when not in use. Light and very powerful for a 12 volt driver. I really like the one-hand insert/release chuck and the battery monitor lights. I found out after I bought it that the company I work for has been using these on the production line with very good results.
Only issue that kept me from giving it five stars is the location of the forward/reverse switch, which I sometimes move inadvertently when using the trigger.
Delivery was very fast, and the reconditioned driver looks and performs the same as a new one.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Milwaukee 2401-82 12-Volt Lithium Ion Sub-Compact Driver.
Buy Gardena 8825 5.25-Inch Lithium-Ion Cordless Shrub/Hedge Trimmer Accu 100
I was really looking forward to receiving this and getting to work in my garden. However, when it arrived, it was a European model intended to work on a 230V circuit with a plug that will NOT work in US households. It says on the web site that it is only available for shipment within the US. Perhaps they have a US model but in the meantime, I'm returning it and shopping for something else.Get more detail about Gardena 8825 5.25-Inch Lithium-Ion Cordless Shrub/Hedge Trimmer Accu 100.

Cheap Makita BTD141 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver Kit
The BTD141 is a 2008 update/improved version of the BTD140. Not much difference but some improved internal parts (slightly higher max torque), slightly different appearance (mainly the plastic gearbox shroud), and a different chuck. This chuck allows you to push in a hex bit without pulling out the sleeve.
Just my luck; a week after I bought this, Makita comes out with the revolutionary Makita BTD144 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver with brushless motor. There is a reason why the BTD144 is the first tool in the Makita line-up to get the brushless technology: Impact drivers are known for their torque but not for their finesse. With the electronic speed & power control that brushless motors allow, you can have buttons that reduce the torque instead of having to feather the trigger pressure(like you have to do on the BTD141). Even though it is $100 more than the BTD141, I would have probably sprung for the BTD144.
Regardless, the BTD141 has loads of potential torque and if you are not careful/skilled you can torque fasteners way beyond where they should be. I needed some practice with the trigger and doing short bursts to make a 3" screw flush with a wood surface. Getting the right pressure on the trigger as you are driving a screw does not come naturally.
The ergonomics on this, as with all Makita LXT tools, is superb. Very comfortable even after 2hrs. of continuous use.
It is loud, but it's supposed to be loud; it's an IMPACT driver.
You can use this driver with the smaller 1.5 amp Makita batteries without making any modifications. (See user picture above) Thus, it can virtually become the smaller, lighter BTD142HW.
The case that came with it from Amazon was very large and had space for a Makita hammer drill. This worked out for me since I got a free hammer drill (BHP454Z) through a mail-in rebate promotion when I bought this. The case might be too big for your liking if Amazon is still shipping it with this case.Get more detail about Makita BTD141 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver Kit.
Buying Factory-Reconditioned Skil 2336-02-RT iXO Lithium-Ion Cordless Screwdriver
I was looking for a replacement for my dying cordless screwdriver and this seemed a good buy at an inexpensive price. For something like this, I am not too scared to buy reconditioned. However, I recommend you read the product descriptions very closely. In the description from the manufacturer, it said a 34-piece bit set was included. However, in the description from the seller it omitted that description. Not really realizing the difference, I ordered the unit. It came quickly and is about what I expected. However, no 34-piece bit set. Instead, just two little 1/4 inch screw driver tips. It was a good price, very cheap, but missing some items which would have made it much more useful.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Skil 2336-02-RT iXO Lithium-Ion Cordless Screwdriver.
Cheapest Hitachi KC18DAL 18-Volt 3-Piece Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit
Please note I bought the 9pc kit which has the same tools
I have had about 10 cordless drills in the past 15 years and recently upgraded to this Hitachi 9 pc kit.
Most recently I had a Dewalt 18v 4pc that was about 5 years old. even though my Dewalt tools were in OK shape the 4 batteries were pretty much dead and had been "revived" a few times. I looked at replacing the batteries but between spending $250 for a new charger and pair of batteries or just replacing the whole kit it made sense to get new tools (my drill needed repair as well).
My initial impression is mixed I chose the Hitachi set over the Dewalt mainly due to cost and the Lithium Ion batteries, not to mention that they have a 10 year warranty on their tools.
The batteries on the Hitachi kit were definitely lighter than dewalt's. seemed like they were almost 1/3rd the weight but their plastic shell does seem to be cheaper quality then dewalt's and the clip mechanism also seems not as sturdy (hopefully though they will last longer).
I was very disappointed with the Hitachi lantern. The description states it has both LED's and a fluorescent lamp what it doesn't state is that there is ONLY 1 LED. Now com-on what can you do with 1 LED? the fluorescent bulb isn't that great compared to Dewalts gooseneck lamp this thing is nothing more than a childs toy.
Looking at the Drill itself, it's a nice solidly made tool. The design is a bit funky as it has a mix of plastic and rubber pieces its very comparable to the Dewalt 18v unit. Hitachi does fall WAY short on the silly belt clip / LED light that is attached to the lower left side of the tool. First off the LED is YELLOW another "come-on what are you thinking?" as it should be a white bulb also noteworthy is that it seems to be powered by its own battery. I have not taken the light apart to determine its power source but my guess is a couple of flat watch type batts and well that makes it worthless as well one of those marketing add ons that really does not need to be there.
The Sawzall, jigsaw grinder and SDS drill are all high quality once again the funky combination of plastic and rubber. I DID however really like the rubber surround that covered the front of the sawzall it makes the tool very comfortable to use.
My Favorite piece here so far is the one that I thought would be used the least. The 1/4" impact driver is great for driving screws I have even used a socket adapter into it and used it when working on my lawn equipment. Weight wise its about the same as my older Makita 14.4v unit but has alot more power is much smaller and drives long screws and bolts 500% better than a non impact driver.
My least favorite tool here is the "blower" I do alot of woodworking and thought it would be nice to have it handy to to blow off sawdust. I figured I'd have it handy and would be quicker than having to find the blower attachment for my air compressor. The unit works ok but its one of those tools that if you are in your shop and you have an air compressor 15 feet away its no big deal and add no value to your combo.
so what do I miss?
Not much if anything at all the tools are very comparable to my old Dewalt kit as mentioned the batteries and the charger appear to be cheaper plastic but that's nothing major and should not be a deal breaker.
I do plan on buying the matching impact wrench a few extra batteries and the real flashlight (since the florescent lantern is a joke) here in a few months.
I do however want to point out that I wish Hitachi made a right angle drill as one does come with Dewalt's larger 18v kits.
Deal wise I bought mine from tyler tool they were running free shipping and a 10% off coupon so the setup cost me $782.10
Followup on 1/2" hammer drill. Was using a 2" hole saw to drill through 2 2x4's drill did not make it through without overheating. I should state the drill was not the first to stop the battery went into protect mode as I swapped the battery out for the one in the light. The lamp did not turn back on for about 3 minutes untill the battery cooled. Even with the second battery in the drill I had to stop for 15 minutes to let it cool down because it kept shutting down.Get more detail about Hitachi KC18DAL 18-Volt 3-Piece Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit.
Discount DEWALT DC318K 28-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Jig Saw Kit with NANO Technology
Replaced an older corded Bosch jigsaw with this DeWalt model. First, going to cordless is really the way to go. This has all the power of the old corded model. In addition, this is a hefty saw and provides for very stable action. I went with the 28 volt to ensure that I have the power for precision cabinetry and decorative work. I need smooth and powerful operation with no hiccups. This saw provides everything I needed. Very smooth operation and the blade does not flex as much as the old corded saw which provides for an improved turning radius. The blade changes are much easier than the older models and the dust removal feature actually works quite well.
If you are looking for a stable, smooth and flexible jigsaw with a little more power than that provided by the 18volt model, then this is the one for you. This can seemingly go forever on one charge. Certainly will last you for the cuts on any reasonable project. The other nice thing with the Li-ion battery is you don't have to worry about battery memory and can throw it on the charger whenever you have the time.
A little pricey, but if you need a good jigsaw, this is the way to go.Get more detail about DEWALT DC318K 28-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Jig Saw Kit with NANO Technology.

Low Price Factory-Reconditioned Ridgid 2-Piece 12V Cordless Lithium-Ion Combo Kit ZRR92008
First of all, I'm delighted by the drill. Small, powerful, light runs all day on one battery. I do theatrical construction. This machine will run all day on one battery for assembly of 2x4 framing. And the pair of batteries will work for all of the intensive drilling activity of a strike. I've never been able to out outlast the batteries.
One tiny quibble -
I'm used to buying refurbished electronics; laptops, iPods, DVD players, remotes, etc.
Most reconditioners make every effort to make the refurbished products as much like new as possible. On the other hand, this recondtioner has had every effort put into making sure that you know that this drill is reconditioned.
The caveat of "some cosmetic blemishes" is certainly true. Not only are there marks of the original purchaser's work, but the reconditioner has also heat-stamped "RECON" into the handgrips of the drill.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Ridgid 2-Piece 12V Cordless Lithium-Ion Combo Kit ZRR92008.
Lowest Price Bosch PS10-2A 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Impact Driver Kit
This product will make you start buying Bosch products. I purchase this to get into some tight spots along with the Milwaukee right angle drill. Works great for what is was design for. I bought a Bosch 36v hammer drill last year and it burned up along with 2 others giving a total 3 hammer drills that were bad. I said I would never buy another Bosch product again, until I saw this and read the reviews. I decided to give Bosch another chance. I am glad I did These 12v Bosch products are well worth it. Well put together and heavy duty and the same time. This 12v line are worth every dollar. Plus check out the rebate on this item. You can not go wrong with the price and quality on this drill. Highly recommend this drill and Bosch 12v line not the 36v tools.Get more detail about Bosch PS10-2A 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Impact Driver Kit.
Hitachi DV14DL 14.4-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Hammer Drill Right now
Read the reviews and the specs for this drill and , gullible as I can be somedays, purchased it. What a serious disappointment. As a semi-retired contractor I'm accustomed to owning tools that can get the job done. My drill/ driver collection has consisted of Porter-Cable 19.2 volt hammer drills for the past 10 years. I was beginning to feel the weight of the Porter Cable due to my Arthritis and believed this Hitachi would be a good replacement. NOT!!! Maximum run time on the batteries is less than 1 hour, charging time is longer than run time. The claim of torque is a fallacy. I can get more torque from a handheld screwdriver or a $29 B&D hobby drill. If you're interested in 'CUTE', this might be a good choice. However, if you're looking to make any productivity, look elsewhere (Porter Cable is a true workhorse, this doesn't even qualify as a pony).Get more detail about Hitachi DV14DL 14.4-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Hammer Drill.
Bare-Tool Hitachi DS18DLP4 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Driver Drill (Tool Only, No Battery) Decide Now
I have had one of these in the kit form for over 2 years and it hasn't failed me yet in the field. I have dropped it off ladders, bored lotsa holes and it looks well abused. The main thing is the batteries seem to be still holding their charge unlike the nicads and NiMH I have used in the past. Also the drill itself is working great as well. I really like the metal chuck and heft so I bought another one to replace another drill (14.4v Bosch) I rarely use cause I am using this one. Like the older drill the chuck seems well centered unlike the Bosch (out, new). I also have some of the Dewalt 18 volt tools that have their merits. If you buy this tool I recommend the 3.0AH batteries. I am planning to get some of the other tools (Impact Screw driver, jig saw) and one more with batteries for a total of 4 that should get me through a day or two. Using the side handle is a good idea on this drill. The Bosch will be retired for household duty for my father.Get more detail about Bare-Tool Hitachi DS18DLP4 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Driver Drill (Tool Only, No Battery).

Factory-Reconditioned Bosch 11536VSR-RT 36-Volt Lithium-Ion 1-Inch SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer Order Now
I purchased this rotary hammer new, not reconditioned. It's pretty much as powerful as corded rotary hammers. It seems to run more blows per second than similarly-sized corded hammers, but each blow is not as powerful. So pretty much whatever you can do with a corded hammer of similar size, you can do with this cordless hammer. Drilling 3/4 inch holes in concrete to a depth of 8 inches, you can do about 15 holes before needing a recharge. In other words, about 15-20 minutes of hard use between battery charges. Everything is well built and designed. The charge indicator on the batteries is useful. The charger is an odd triangle shape, but otherwise well designed with a fan to pull air through the battery packs during heavy recharging. Fully discharged packs can be recharged in about 40 minutes.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Bosch 11536VSR-RT 36-Volt Lithium-Ion 1-Inch SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer.

Bare-Tool Hitachi G18DLP4 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 4-1/2-Inch Angle Grinder (Tool Only, No Battery) Immediately
As with all my hitachi tools, I am very happy with this cordless grinder. I use it primarily with a metal cutting wheel. While building a machine shed on my small farm with no electricity, I would charge both of my Li ion batteries before heading out to the farm. I was able to cut the top angles of a 24ft gable end of barn metal with one battery and screw on the metal with the other. Both batteries lasted long enough to do the job. [one side] I hope that hitachi will keep making such dependable products. I know other tool manufacturers that made quality tools in the past have went downhill lately. Dewalt to name number one on my down hill list. Hitachi, Good tools, good prices.Get more detail about Bare-Tool Hitachi G18DLP4 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 4-1/2-Inch Angle Grinder (Tool Only, No Battery).

Great buy. Shipped extremely fast, I think I received in 3 days. i have used the impact driver much already & I wish I would have had this tool long ago. The battery does charge in 15 minutes & lasts quite a long time. When the battery goes, it goes all at once, which is good. Driver has mostly all of its full power until the end & with a 15 minute charge time, is great. I love this tool. Sheet metal & wood screws are so much easier to use now. The radio is also great. great sound. The battery lasted over 8 hours on one charge in the radio. Factory-Reconditioned Ridgid 12V Cordless 3/8" Lithium-Ion Drill/Driver ZRR82007 Top Quality
Very handy size with a nice balance to it. Can't yet comment on battery life, but keep in mind it is a small compact battery, and not really designed for heavy use. Ridgid does offer a lifetime warranty on the batteries, we'll see how well that works. I do find fault with the direction selector, it is too close to the trigger and I seem to hit it every time I pick it up or put it down.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Ridgid 12V Cordless 3/8" Lithium-Ion Drill/Driver ZRR82007.
Bosch PS40-2A 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Impact Driver Review
Ok maybe "ever" is an exaggeration. Would this have helped the Egyptians with the pyramids or the French peasants with their cathedrals? I suppose not but the closest I've come to building a cathedral is the enormous redwood jungle gym / fort / swing unit in our backyard and for that the Bosch was fantastic. That did involve sinking 3" wood screws into big pieces of wood but I'm not going to win any Big Screw contests with other reviewers here...mostly I use this for around the house and garage and light to medium building of things. And for that it's perfect. Here are some specific notes:
--Battery lasts forever and more importantly, keeps a charge when not in use. I can't remember the last time I charged the battery in mine. 6 months ago maybe? And it comes with TWO BATTERIES. Awesome.
--Buy long driver bits to get into narrow spaces, or a bit extension.
--Do the final tightening with a hand screwdriver to avoid stripping out the hole.
--The combination of this tool and self-tapping screws is fantastic as you don't have to carry a drill around with you. The Bosch will work in a pinch to drill a pilot hole but it's not ideal for that use. Half the time though I just end up sinking the screws without a pilot hole.
--The light that is supposed to illuminate the screw head gets everything but the screw head since the driver bit is in the way.
--It is noisy but a very satisfying kind of noise...the noise of Stuff Getting Done!
--The way the batteries load makes it perfect for pretending that you are TJ Hooker loading another magazine in your Colt .45.
If there were a sixth star to give, I would give it for this very useful, well-made tool.Get more detail about Bosch PS40-2A 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Impact Driver.
