I think this screw gun is going to save me a lot of time once I get used to it, but getting consistent screw depths has been tricky, especially at seams. You have to drive the screws fast enough and with enough pressure to keep the bit engaged until it's dimpled properly and bottoms out. Getting enough pressure on the gun, holding the right angle, and driving with enough speed all while standing on a ladder and holding this gun over your head isn't easy. I'm new to drywall, but in my first 4 sheets I got about half of my screws perfect. The rest varied between being overdriven, underdriven, missing the studs, stripping out, or breaking the head off the screw. I'm not blaming the gun for this, but the auto-feed head makes it a little more difficult to see what you're doing than a single screw, manual version would be. I think I just need more practice, fortunately I've still got a basement interior to finish. However, at this point I think the auto-feed gun probably didn't save me much time over a manual fed version. On the plus side, it never jammed on me and it was completely reliable. The LXT series are great tools, and with the bare tool versions, a great value in Li-Ion cordless tools too.Get more detail about Bare-Tool Makita BFR750Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Autofeed Screwdriver (Tool Only, No Battery).
