I own a bunch of different 18V tools and over all, I have really appreciated the Makita 18V lithium-ion line of cordless tools. With that said, I am VERY disappointed with the Makita reciprocal saw. Even with the new lithium-ion battery, this tool is WEAK!!! I used it to cut a 1/2" piece of all thread and it bogged down and didn't even complete the cut. I have an older Hitachi 18V reciprocal saw and it is many times better than the Makita. All the other Makita tools in this line up have been fairly impressive, but this saw is a complete waste of money.
